Club 201 is inside the America Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta, Ga. It has one of the largest dance floors in the Atlanta area and the state. Most Friday nights is DJ music dancing, from west coast and east coast swing, waltz, ball room and two stepping.
Club 201 is a "dancehall" where its mostly couple dancing but linedancing and freestyle is welcomed too. Most of the dancing on Saturday nights is a mix of two stepping, the swings, cha-cha, waltz and other couple style dances.
Saturday nights are live band nights with some of the best dance bands in the Atlanta area. Most play country music but classic rock, blues and more as well. DJ Don plays favorite dance songs during the breaks.
Sunday nights is dance lessons as well followed by open dancing.

First thing for all bands interested, Club 201 usually books out 3 to 6 months or more. We will still consider you for future bookings if you meet allot of the following criteria.
#1 - We are a Dance Club We have a great group of Passionate Dancers!!! We feature a 2,800 Sq Ft Dance floor PLUS seating to handle well over 200.Mark & Elizabeth Williams provide Dance Instruction beginning @ 7.00 PM Kitchen is open 7-10 PM (menu on the website).GREAT Legion Drink prices (full service bar) – Smoke-Free environment.Main Dance event is 8pm - Midnight with 3 breaks @ top of each hour.We have a great House P.A. and lighting system.
Compensation is 50% of the Door ($10.00 cover) - We cannot negotiate Guarantees or minimums.Tax information (W-9) must be on file PRIOR to any monies being paid - 1099 will be issued.You will be paid on the 11 O'clock break by check – Settlement Sheet will be reviewed and signed, Check endorsed and Cash Paid.
OUR Saturday crowd is slightly more Country and Country/Rock. Average age is early to late 50s. Plan for about 33 % slower music – Include Waltz - Two-step - Swing (East & West Coast) - Cha-cha - Line Dances - etc.
In either case - PLAY TO THE CROWD!!! Control the Volume - we are no longer Teenagers and we value what hearing we have left.....Most songs need to be 3-4 minutes or less - then change the Tempo, Style, or Beat. Keep the Dead Air between songs to a minimum - If you can engage the audience with banter, OK, But still no more than 5-10 seconds between songs...IF you play a song that nobody is dancing to, cut it short and try something else..Accommodate requests as best you can.
The Dance Styles that go well with our dancers are: West Coast Swing, Waltz, Two Step, Cha-Cha, East Coast Swing (jitter bug, etc), Night Cub Two Step, Polka, Hustle and the popular line dances of the last 20 years. Also, some barn dances, like Black Velvet, Cowboy Cha-Cha are also popular at Club 201.
