What is Giallo?
Giallo is an Italian 20th-century genre of literature and film, which in Italian indicates crime fiction and mystery. In English, it has come to refer to a particular style of (typically Italian) murder mystery films which includes elements of horror fiction and eroticism (similar to the French fantastique genre). The word "giallo" is Italian for "yellow" and comes from a series of cheap paperback mystery novels with trademark yellow covers.

About SUSPIRIA
Suspiria (Latin for "sighs") is a 1977 Italian horror film directed by Dario Argento. The film stars Jessica Harper as an American ballet student who transfers to a prestigious dance academy in Germany, which she discovers is controlled by a coven of witches.

The score was composed by progressive rock band Goblin and released in 1977. The film is the first of the trilogy Argento refers to as "The Three Mothers", followed in 1980 by Inferno and in 2007 by The Mother of Tears. Suspiria has become one of Argento's most successful feature films, receiving critical acclaim for its visual and stylistic flair, use of vibrant colors, and its soundtrack.

About THE NEW YORK RIPPER
A vicious serial killer stalks the streets of New York City, horrifically mutilating women whilst taunting lead investigator Lieutenant Williams with a Donald Duck impersonation. As the bodies pile up, Williams finds himself at a loss until a surviving target of the Ripper, Fay discovers that the identity of the killer may be much too close for comfort.

Fashioned as part giallo, part slasher flick, The New York Ripper is a 1982 Italian giallo film directed and co-written by Lucio Fulci.

Italo song selections between films by Mel Paget, Daniel R and Faz Times.
