Hoxton Ukulele Hootenanny takes place weekly on Mondays for regular Ukers, beginners or anyone who is just Uke curious. Join us for our annual special summery jam, for friendly regulars and all those who've never been!
5.30pm - BBQ and drinks on the Rooftop at Queen of Hoxton
7.30pm - Jam and sing-a-longs, prizes, wheel of fortune games & special performances from:
// PLANETZIM
The Zen Rube Boy Of the Uke World also known as Jez Allerton. He has played his uke on the London Indie circuit for many years (as a mark of rebellion) and has watched in awe as 'the third wave' took place. Using live and sampled instruments and glitch noises, his music moves through a wide variety of production sounds to satisfy Planetzims’ eclectic mind and tastes.
// THE FLEAS
Playing an eclectic mix of pop hits from accross the decades The Fleas take on everything from the The Beatles to Britney on a Ukulele.
Good time no nonsense party band. The hits never stop!
// JELLYAPE
Jellyape brings together the oddly natural chemistry of a ukulele and Nintendo gameboy to make ska punky goodness for the world to enjoy. As one would expect when combining ukulele and gameboy she likes to sing about serious matters facing the planet as a whole such as a cat wearing a trilby who fights the mafia.
Time: 5.30pm - 12am
Price: Free entry
£20 returnable deposit for Ukulele if you don't have your own.
