Superstrat extends its activities and has the pleasure to welcome a second hand vinyl record shop under its roof on September 16th and invites you to the opening from 17 to 21:00.


THE RECORD SHOP

Initially, the concept was limited to a Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/559709060833174) gathering music passionates throughout Belgium. After a few months, the idea of creating a physical structure was born.
The concept is based on a consignement system focusing on three points making its particularity :

1. Permanent record fair

The shop won't purchase its stock but will offer different stockists the possiblity to leave their stocks there and have them sold a permanent seller working there. A rotation of the stocks will occur each month in order to propose a wider array of genres and styles.

2. Participative system

Each stockist contributes individually to the rent by paying an individual contribution each month. The stockists share the rent, it's a participative platform.
"More stockists = more diversity in the stock = lower individual contribution to the rent"
The system draws its strength throughout the collaboration between all the people taking part in the project.

3. The stockists

Each stockists fixes the prices, brings between 50 and 150 records and all the sales benefits are for him. No commission will be taken.

Following a desire to gather people around a common interest for objects, Superstrat sees its birth in a typical house located in the Marolles area in Brussels.
It's an innovative and friendly concept offering different designers (after various calls for projects) the occasion to be part of the house and exhibit their creations during one seaon in exchange of a small rent.
Superstrat is clearly an alternative to the high-end boutiques or galleries taking important commissions on the sales since no profit on the sales of the creators' objects is made.
Superstrat's main concern is to showacase young creators with promising approaches far away from any misbeliever logic.
