Larkin Poe are Atlanta based sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell and they were, according to the Observer, “The best discovery at Glastonbury 2104.” From their bluegrass origins as The Lovell sisters, they've absorbed influences ranging from southern gothic (their name refers to Edgar Allen Poe, a very distant relative), classic singer-songwriters, 70s rock, folk, and country soul with a taste of psychedelia and they've produced a sound that reflects their roots, and points the way to a glittering future. Their fans include Elvis Costello, and their debut album KIN is terrific. “Frankly, Marc Bolan is not an influence you expect to hear on an album branded Americana and it's the kind of incongruous detail that makes ears prick up with delight – delicious!” The Telegraph.
