Sugar Fed Leopards
Sugar Fed Leopards are a glamorous six-piece band playing joyous original disco and girl group songs with a twist of soul. A shimmering spectacle of rich sound, Sugar Fed Leopards drip with the energy of three female singers, a spangling guitar and solid rhythm section that has been igniting dance floors across Melbourne for the past 12 months. Their live shows feature the athleticism of Ike and Tina, backed by Diana Ross-esque disco era anthems and swoony ballads that cure heartbreak.
Having been featured on PBSFM’s 2014 Drive Live program and on Channel 10’s International Comedy Gala All-Star Supershow as the house band, Sugar Fed Leopards’ fan base has quickly grown nation-wide.
The band recently released their debut album to a sold out crowd and are making plans to tour nationally later this year
Sweet original music that falls somewhere in the sequinned space between disco, soul, doo-wop and rock'n'roll

Chelsea Wilson
Chelsea grew up listening to rhythm and blues courtesy of her Dad’s record collection. But it was falling in love with jazz at age fifteen and in particular with the great voices of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughn that inspired Chelsea to become a vocalist and led her to studying at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. After completing her music degree, Chelsea earned her performance stripes overseas, completing seven 6-month international residency contracts across Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, The UAE, The USA and The Caribbean performing over 280 shows per year. After relocating to Melbourne Chelsea collated her experiences into her debut EP Bitterness and took up the post as Music and Interviews Manager at iconic Melbourne station PBS FM.
Recently Chelsea supported Macy Gray on her 2015 Australian tour, headlined the Arts Centre Stage at the Australasian World Music Expo, performed at the sell out Women of Soul show at SummerSalt Festival and debuted her solo cabaret show I Hope You’ll Be Very Unhappy Without Me – The Cabaret at the opening night of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival. She curates the sell out Women of Soul performance series featuring artists such as Kylie Auldist, Michelle Martinez and Clairy Browne and is currently producing the Women of Soul album to be released April 2015 and is currently on the 10 year anniversary Stonnington Jazz Festival Programming Panel. A budding vinyl collector and dance floor connoisseur she has DJ’d at events such as PBS FM’s Soul A Go Go, The National Gallery of Victoria’s Friday night Masterpiece series and the Melbourne Recital Centre Garden Party, but its behind the mic where she truly shines.
“Chelsea Wilson is an accomplished singer who knows her groove. Really knows it. Her album launch was like a tour of the best of the 60s and 70s. She’s written faultless songs, chosen impeccable band members and even had energy to spare for more than a few extra surprises. But first, her voice. And what a voice. Wilson’s vocals are practiced and deliberate, delivering just the right amount of heartfelt lament and bitter vengeance. And appropriately so – many of her songs explore themes of betrayal, jealousy, heartbreak and complications of love. Wilson also managed to assemble a cracking band behind her. A sharp horn section and colourful keyboards lent their colours to the usual drums, bass and guitar. And just like Wilson, they were all exceptionally well-rehearsed and on point. Special mention should go to guitarist Neil Boland, who showed us some exceptionally well-judged blues solos and later funked up the set with some wah, phaser and other effects. Not satisfied with merely sharing here excellent vocals and top band, Wilson also brought in backing dancer/singers – complete with impressive choreographed dance moves (and also both excellent singers too!). And there were guest singers. And costume changes. And a killer encore. This is a woman who has thought it all through. And she understands the importance of going beyond a musical performance. She understands what it takes to put on a show. We’d be very unhappy without her.” – Kim Lajoie Skylashes
Fulton Street
Fulton Street are an eight-piece soul group, hailing from Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs. With a rock-solid rhythm section and dynamic horn section, the group is led by commanding lead vocalist, Shannen. Drawing on the very best of soul and RnB, both old and new combined, Fulton Street create a thoroughly modern sound that is all their own. Over the last eighteen months, Fulton Street has been gigging at some of Melbourne’s best venues and has quickly found a place for themselves in Melbourne’s bustling soul scene.
"As they let the smooth sounds of funk and soul overtake the room, Fulton Street were like a small family with the way they worked off each other’s vibe. They performed songs like Roll On Home, Wasting My Time and Tell Me, as well as a mind blowing cover of the Sesame Street song. It was a perfect way to begin the night." – Ashley Nair, Mosca Media Australia.
“If you haven’t heard firsthand what an amazingly talented band Fulton Street are, come listen for yourself – you won’t leave disappointed!”– Ding Dong Lounge.
