Do you comedy? Are you currently a student? Are you ‘of the year?’

Then why not enter the Burning Duck Student Comedian of the Year competition and you could be the first ever Burning Duck Student Comedian of the Year and win a paid spot at an upcoming Burning Duck Comedy Club night!

As judged* by a selection of very important self-appointed comedy industry luminaries from Burning Duck Comedy Club and Infowow Comedy (Sheffield).

Also introducing award-winning loud-voiced wild-haired York University Comedy Society graduate Will Seaward!

Will is returning to York and he’s bringing ghosts! LOTS of ghosts! And also werewolves and vampires and stuff! Join him for the most cobweb-draped, blood soaked, spine-tingling ghoststravaganza in the history of everything! Everything!

Ghost ships! Poltergeists! Cursed artefacts! Primitive special effects! Torches! Wailing! What could possibly be better?

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All entrants must be registered students currently studenting in a further/higher educational establishment.

All entrants get up to 5 minutes to comedy.

To enter the competition, please email [email protected] with your name, brief bio and an interesting personal fact / anecdote. In the event of more applicants than spaces on the bill, please also complete one of the following jokes to help us decide the most appropriate applicants.

– “Why did the Burning Duck cross the road?..”
– “A Burning Duck walks into a bar..”
– Or any other joke which involves a Burning Duck.

The winner as decided on the night will be offered paid work at a future Burning Duck Comedy night! Along with other ‘prizes’ for other applicants.

All finalists will be confirmed on application and entry to the event is free if you are a registered participant.
