Contemporary Egyptian band فرقة بهيَّة - Bahiyya plays contemporary oriental revolutionary music. Members of the band participated in one of the most important sit-ins of the January Revolution – Occupy Cabinet – where they met by chance. In the sit-in, they gathered around the songs of Sheikh Sayyid Darwish, Sheikh Imam, Sheikh Zakariyya Ahmad and others, and as a result, they formed the band.
Bahiyya performs songs discussing social and political matters in its distinct and contemporary style, in addition to its activist and cynical spirit for-which it has long been known.
