♥ LEXER BIO ♥

LEXER is very much one oft he young guns, unburdened by the weight of history. He
hasn’t spent the past decade in the house and techno academy having to listen to the
nebulous dictates of good taste and is one of those DJs who realized that it would be a
shame to commit oneself only to one style of music. Four to he floor? Sure! Vocals? Why
not? Piano? Always a good idea. Trumpets? Gladly. Strings? For sure! Guitars? Yes,
indeed.
LEXER does his own thing, free of dogma, resistant to stereotyping. Part of his mind is
set on the club, the other part likes to establish ties with pop music, thereby proving,
what a long-sighted and intuitive top musician he already is at such a young age.
LEXER grew up in the provincial outskirts of Leipzig, in Bad Lausick, which apart from a
town-spa hasn’t much to offer. This is why he moved to nearby Leipzig, which he now
calls his hometown. Leipzig has always been a more than okay place for electronic dance
music - besides Berlin is just around the corner. Berlin is also where his booking agency
is situated, and together they are more than happy that in the last two years the booking
requests went through the roof. LEXER has long since proceeded to become a zealous
club-tourist for all the right reasons. Anyone who has had the pleasure to become an
eye- or ear-witness to one of his sets, will have found oneself amidst a crowd of smiling
faces and ecstatic dancers. LEXER takes them by the hand, he communicates with them
through his music and leaves the crowd behind with a comforting feeling.
Seemingly effortless LEXER manages to combine new and old and all different styles in a
homogeneous way. Everything started two years ago with an edit of the track ‚Funeral’
by Band of Horses. Edits and remixes of alleged genre-extraneous songs are still an
important component of his DJing – because in the end all that counts for LEXER is the
differentiation between good and bad music, between music that touches our soul or that
doesn’t.
What would suggest itself more, than to put this maxim on an album that tells LEXER’s
story and that takes the audience on a ride?
NOWHERE ELSE is the name of his debut album, and it contains 13 tracks which not only
blend together perfectly, but each one stands out as an effective club track in its own
right. LEXER is a grandmaster of composition when it comes to melody, piano and
strings, yet remains free of the constraints of classical music and proving equally crafty
with rumbling baselines, fearless kick drums, smart sounds and clever claps. Each track
grooves infectiously, emanating euphoria you can almost touch.
LEXER also has a knack for guest vocalists. With her smooth voice, wrapped by an
equally smooth guitar tune and pushed by a pounding baseline, Belle Humble turns
´Feels Like This´ into a real hit, as does Audrey Janssens with ‘Till Dawn’. It might well
be that LEXER will enter the charts with these songs – it would be well deserved.
Because in spite of his quickly developing success our hero is noticeably down to earth.
He doesn’t want to make a big fuss, he doesn’t want to be adored - all he wants is to
share his greatest passion – his music – with us.
In this aspect NOWHERE ELSE is a powerful, authentic, atmospheric and soulful
statement.
