The answers to these questions are the Holy Grail for all musicians. Understanding and unravelling the complex and subjective human relationship with tones, textures and triads is a constant quest for musical clarity. For the most passionate artists, this quest will take a lifetime…

Passionate artists like Camo (Reini) and Krooked (Markus): Two young Austrians who met on the skateboard but made a lifelong pact in the studio almost 10 years ago. Quickly identifying a shared vision and thirst for sonic communication, the pair have been asking themselves the questions above (and many more) since their earliest releases in the late 2000s.
At first they found answers within the high energy, chaotic parameters of drum & bass. But, as they’ve persisted on their quest, found more answers and asked more questions, they’re now exploring a much wider world of musical possibilities.

FRICTION

Multi award-winning Friction is one of the most relentless and respected DJ / producers in the world. Deemed by Pete Tong himself “one of the big dogs”, he entered the coveted D&B Hall of Fame at the 2011 D&B Arena Awards. Known for his masterful technical ability behind the decks, his eclecticism and faultless taste, Friction mesmerises crowds on four decks with unreleased cuts, Shogun & SGN:Ltd unheard gems, classics and VIP’s. He has made his name unmistakable to any bass music fan since his debuts in the early 2000’s, so whether you’re catching his radio show on BBC Radio 1 or a DJ set anywhere from Glastonbury to LA, to Sydney or even Tokyo, you can be sure you won’t be disappointed.

STAMINA MC

Stamina is, by now, no stranger to the stage or to the studio. Currently he performs regularly as a result of being MC of choice for both DJ Marky and Shy FX. He also hosts one of Rinse FM's only Drum & Bass shows weekly on a Tue night/Wed morning, getting back to lesser-known roots in DJing. For the future, expect more vocal outings in a multitude of genres, production under the long-dormant alias of 'Armour', and DJ sets.

LINGUISTICS

In 2012 Linguistics work and career as an MC took off when he was picked up by Friction, the voice of BBC Radio 1's Official D&B Show, to be his MC. Later that year he was voted 'Best Newcomer' at the Drum and Bass Arena Awards.

RISE

Rise started as a simple idea between two mates. We wanted more Drum & Bass in Swansea, but mainly Drum & Bass that hadn’t been done here before, or at least not for a while. This led to us organising our first event where we brought Kove to Sin City. What we thought would be a fairly quiet start to our brand turned in to the club hitting capacity and having 700 ravers skanking until the lights came on...

With this immediate success, we knew we couldn’t stop. 2 years later, we’ve brought down some of the biggest names in the scene, from High Contrast to Dub Phizix. We’ve given support to local DJs, worked with clothing brands and various artists from around Wales.
