With apologies for the late call – we've just been making sure the weather's doing what it's supposed to. But although it's still a bit breezy right now, it does seem to be backing off as forecast so we're going to try a quick dash from Chalkwell into Old Leigh and back. Meeting by 5.15pm at Chalkwell rigging green (www.supsect.com/chalkwell-beach nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ) for a 5.30pm launch, then just a few k into Old Leigh and probably straight back again (it's unlikely we'll have time for a drink) so we're home before the water's gone. As last week, we will end up paddling back after dusk but conditions seem set to turn out gentle and there'll be plenty enough light off the shoreline for comfort...
