Scorchio! And we're game on for a big SUP Club tonight, with a carbon copy of our Two Tree session a fortnight ago. Unfortunately, with this much sun and heat around we can't count on perfection: there's a very strong risk of a very strong sea breeze in our faces on the way out (it already looks to have started, so see how it develops through the afternoon at www.skylink-pro.com/remote-index.php?domainname=southendlifeboat.org&keyword=rnli) although true to form it will probably die back to nothing by the time we turn around! It's a 6.30pm low tide too, so be ready for a bit of work on the way out as we paddle against it: again, ideally stronger paddlers with some grit and determination tonight! We're running another 'Black Ops' mission so we still don't want anyone to hit Two Tree Island (www.supsect.com/two-tree-island) before 6.10pm so we all get there after the Foreshore Officer has gone home and hence can't charge for launching from the slipway (do have £4 ready though, in case we need to pay if the office is still manned!) Then we want everyone fully set soon after 6.30pm, so that shorter boards / newer paddlers can launch first at 6.40pm, followed by all-comers at 6.45pm and finally finally full-on / raceboard types at 6.50pm maybe even later if they fancy a sprint. (As is our new policy this season, please let the newer paddlers / sub-11-footers off first!) We'll head towards Seal Point again and might just make it this week ahead of a 7.45pm turn for home. Then after, beers and grub en masse at The Elms...
